Vlc on Xbox one source code request

I find it strange that vlc would be on Xbox one because of the nature of open source software and under the terms of the gpl I could request the entire source for use with Xbox one. Is the vlc under uwp or uwc using the vlc for iOS license code which is under mplv2 or does vlc have a cla to authorize an exemption? I remember with iOS it had to be pulled and relicensed to mpl to satisfy the app store limitations.

The vlc.git repository for 4.0 is also mostly compatible with UWP and Xbox as it is.

Yes, the XBox version is under MPLv2 for the same reasons.
