Xbox Series X - Copying files from external media to internal storage

I recently got an Xbox Series X and have installed VLC.
I plugged in my external USB thumbdrive to play some films and TV which worked without any trouble but I noticed that there was an option to copy files to the internal storage. I did this a few times as I didn't think it actually worked and now when I use the Xbox without the USB thumbdrive plugged in I have multiple copies of various videos on the internal storage.
My questions are (a) how can I delete the copies of the videos I don't need, (b) where does VLC store the video files and (c) can I access this area in a file manager or similar?
