Are their plans to allow playing of mp4 files from DVD?

Are their plans to allow playing of mp4 files from DVD? Is it just a case of it is not implemented yet or is it a WRT limitation thing? As it is borderline deal breaker for me as far as the xbox one is concerned. I may go back to my 360.

I am new to xbox one by a few days and I was both shocked and dismayed to find out that is will not play mp4 files from a DVD. The only way they play is if I transfer them to HD/flash drive. I have been using my 360 to play the dvds straight out the box for the last 2 years.

VLC is the closest I could find. Great program BTW thank you.

Yes, as far as I know it was a limitation of UWP. Do you know of any app that can do this besides the official MS player?
It will be possible to implement this feature soon though if I'm not mistaken (Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is due this month).

Yes i did buy me https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9P5SX8XGQZ3K this UWP app for $1 when its was disconted for watch DVD, still looks like is disconted price one the app.

But would like to see it added to VLC so man dont need to use alot of diffrens UWP apps players for diffrens type of format.
