[Xbox One] MKV with linked segments

Postby sarkwalvein » 28 Feb 2017 01:20

I have noticed that MKVs with linked segments play correctly as a whole in VLC on my Mac.
In the other hand, they don't play correctly in my Xbox One, they normally are missing segments like opening and ending.
Is this the expected behaviour? Will this be fixed?

PS: By MKV with linked segments I mean video that is distributed along several MKV files, a common case being anime episodes where opening and ending are stored only once in separate MKV files, with every episode stored in individual MKV files without opening and ending, instead linking to the corresponding files so that they are played along with the episode automatically.

I want to make it clear that this post is refers to the Xbox One version. This doesn't happen with the current Mac version.
In the link posted above it is suggested as a solution to pass a certain argument to VLC.
Unfortunately passing arguments is not possible AFAIK on Xbox One, you can only run the application and that is it.
Nevertheless the post also states that the bug is fixed, perhaps it is still not pushed as an Xbox One update for the application, or perhaps I've just forgotten to update the application.
I will check when I'm back home.

Thank you for your reply.

I can confirm this feature is still not working on Xbox One.

Dear Site Administrator, if you have something useful to say, say it.
In the other hand if you are just going to make a "witty" remark that doesn't help to solve the problem but only bumps a six months old thread, then learn that there is better use for the time of everybody.
If you are in need to vent your frustration with the world, pay for a psychologist.
Neither me, nor anybody else that replied to this thread are there for you to vent your stress and raise your ego by dealing with your "witty" useless comments.
Your useless bumping of this thread made me receive a useless mail notification and check your useless comment for no good reason, there is a better use for my time.

That remark was not for you, of course. The remark makes no sense. Also, why would I answer a thread from February???

The remark was against a message from someone else that was removed since.

Ah, OK.
For some reason I found your reply really aggressive, and thought it was directed to me as my post was directly before it.
Sorry, perhaps I need a visit to psychologist.
