Player crashes when new song starts playing and I can't remove a folder from my library

I don't know how to code (though I'm learning my first language: Java) but I would really like to help with debugging VLC for Windows Store as I'm a pretty good power user with spare time right now. The problem is, I don't know how/where to help. The bug reporting system seems to be for the main VLC application, so I don't know where to submit debug logs. Right now I'm having two problems that I would love to help someone address:
1. I can't seem to get VLC to ignore files on my microSD card. When I first downloaded that app I added the folder and it scanned and placed 20,000+ plus songs in the library. Now I can't get them out of the library. After deleting the folder from the monitored folders I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling VLC for Windows Store (VLC4WS?), resetting the app in the Windows Settings App, resetting and then uninstalling, making sure the folders aren't listed in the Windows Music Library, and resetting the Groove music app in case the libraries were linked somehow. No matter what I do when I reinstall VLC4WS it keeps loading the files on the microSD to the library.
I should note that when the dialogue "VLC has detected an external storage device" comes up if I choose Ignore the app immediately crashes and since I don't have room to copy everything to internal storage I am forced to choose "use external storage as media library."
2. Every time a song ends and a new one begins the new one cuts out in less than a second. Sometimes the app crashes, sometimes it doesn't, but it always stops playing within the first half a second. I have a debug log, but I don't know where to put it.
I am on a surface pro 3 windows 10.
How can I help get these bugs fixed? It seems other people are having similar problems (https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=134900) but we need to know how to help!
