XBox One VLC folder refresh

VLC is working fine on my Xbox One. i like it much better than the Media Player. I am playing my video files from external HDs on my network. I can not figure out how to refresh a folder. if i add another file to my HD from my computer there is no way to see it short of shutting down my whole Xbox. i have tried backing out as far as the Media Player or Live TV, but when I go back to VLC the same files are in the folders. the new one has not appeared. not until i shut down Xbox completely and re-start do the new files show up. any suggestions?

This might sound silly, but try quitting out of the program? When you're in Xbox Home, hit the menu key when selecting VLC and select quit. That should save you a reboot.
