VLC on Lumia 930 with W10 a) Playback b) Wireless access in network

hello all, I have installed vlc from the store twice until yesterday. First time was for WP 8.1, it worked but display ratio is messed up and it was just impossible to watch a Video with that distortion.
Yesterday upgraded my Lumia 930 to Windows10 , all went fine and then I installed VLC again form the Shop. a) Result is the same, playback is distorted, stretched and it doesnt change anything in display when I toggle to other setting, e.g. BEST FIT, horizontal / vertical, all of them no change . playback remains just STRETCHED and thus distorted. WHAT TO DO ?
b) the VLC App recognizes the wireless network and shows the ID of my Laptop in the selection field for sources. " MN_ASUS " (thats the ID ) . Once i click there an entry field opens and I type in the network path as:
http:\\mn_asus\username\videos\ ENTER returns an orange coloured ok check but nothing else, error message " vlc cannot find ...." no display of the directory, files , content to select from. I thought this is a good feature to view
on mobile via wireless network, saving lots of memory on the Lumia. Question is, can I access my Laptop with the VLC wireless network function? and HOW to get a file list to select from.
On the device itself it very well shows a filelist of music / video saved on the Lumia.
