Xbox Series X - 4K - LG C9 OLED - no longer works

Hi. I am curious if there is a known issue with the current VLC release on the Xbox series x.

I was able to stream 4K .mkv files stored on my pc SSD to my LG C9 OLED.

Now when I try to play those same videos the screen stays black, vlc menu starts flickering and very laggy. The lag/flickering continues even after you try to pause the video. You have to force close the app.

I guess I would like to know if anyone has any update / release history notes so I can know if its due to a VLC, Xbox, or LG update.


All other content still streams fine just not 4k.

Just thought I’d provide an update.

The same videos now stream no problem. I have no idea what changed.. I looked at the release notes for VLC on the Xbox and it didn’t seem like any update was done. I also didn’t make any changes on the PC side.

I guess it will remain a mystery.
