Auto Rotate Video Playback - HP Spectre X360 Windows 10

I recently downloaded the VLC Windows Store app to better use the touch screen features on my laptop. When I use the old desktop VLC app and try to use the laptop in tent mode, the direction of video playback automatically adjusts as my laptop goes into tablet mode and windows displays autorotate on.

When I try to do the same thing in the windows store app, before I play the video the VLC store app rotates and the autorotate on windows notification comes up on screen. However as soon as I select a video and hit play the app rotates back to being upside down again. Strangely this does not happen during music playback.

Any solutions?

Is the Windows 10 "tablet mode" enabled when you have the issue?

Same issue for me on Lenovo X1 Yoga.

Yes it's in tablet mode. Turning off tablet mode drops you back into windowed mode - which is the right way up but not full screen

I cant manage to rotate the screen of my laptop even in tablet mode.

There is a "Force landscape" option in the video settings, make sure to turn that off and see if that changes anything.
