Xbox One Bug? Videos are too bright and washed out.

Postby bobross » 18 Dec 2017 04:55

Xbox app version: 2.5.5.6

I've played the same m2ts file on several Xbox One X media apps and they are all fine except on VLC. On the other apps (I can't use because they are crap and stutter) the brightness levels are fine - and the letterbox bars are completely black. When I load the same video file in VLC, the image is way brighter and the letterbox bar is a medium gray color. Then when I drop back to the VLC menu, the deep black is back.

Is there a way to fix this or is it some sort of playback bug?

Hello,

This seems to be like https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc-winrt/issues/210 which should be fixed in the next update.
Please share your file so I can confirm.

Thanks for the update mfkl. Um it's a 43GB m2ts file..... Maybe I'll wait for the update to confirm if fixed?

Yep, working flawlessly on my LG OLED C6, thanks for the great effort guys...

Just add bitstream audio and you´re up for App of the year award:)
