I have one favorite selected. It is regularly forgotten and has to be re-added.

Is this due to VLC updates? tvOS updates? The type of underlying share? Something else?

It's not a huge effort to deal with this, but it is a little annoying.

This is surprising. We had that problem when we originally shipped that feature for Apple TV but it should be resolved by now. Is your Apple TV very very full with very little available storage left?

Definitely not. I have very few apps and no apps storing files locally.

I seem to have the same issue since my VLC player was upgraded 2 days ago.
I use VLC for Android Version 3.6.3
When I start VLC, the favorites are gone. When I click somewhere (eg somewhere in the filesystem) and go one step back, then they reappear.

Apart from that everything works as usual.
