VLC performance and conversion on iOS

Postby mjb98 » 17 Oct 2024 12:00

Hi,
When I try to open a video on the VLC media player app, it says
“Performance warning
Casting this video requires conversion. This conversion can use all the available power and could quickly drain your battery.”

The options to click are
“Ok
Ok don’t want me again
Cancel”

I’ve clicked all 3 at separate times AND my phone has been on charge. But the video still won’t play - the video closes. This is with mkv and mp4 files.

Can anyone help?
Thanks :)

This dialog will appear only if your have streaming to Chromecast enabled and your Chromecast device does not support the video type you are trying to play. If you want to watch locally, it will of course just work without burning your battery.

Thanks for your reply, any chance you know how to enable chromecast, or how to make the chromecast support the video?
