VLC tvOS Does Not Save Credentials for Samba Share

tvOS: 17.5.1
VLC: 3.5.10 (630)

Issue: VLC does not save credentials (user/password/port) when accessing a Samba (SMBv1) share; the "Save" button apparently does nothing, and I have to re-enter log/pass/port each time I access that share.

(A previous version of VLC -- unfortunately I do not know which one -- saved credentials without problems).

Any suggestions?

I had this issue for years, wrote about it about 3 years ago. No oen gave a f**k :( moved to sftp, but that is now screwed too, cant even connect anymore... all present on ios, macos, linux and win... moved to infuse, works like a charm...

Thanks, unfortunately, it does indeed appear that no-one at VLC cares about this issue. Too bad.

I tested Infuse, and I can confirm that, unlike VLC, it has no problem saving credentials.

Hello,

+1 here.

I managed to connect VLC tv os to my SMB drive, and add it to the favorite folder in the VLC home page.

But I can’t play any movie and need to reconnect each time.

What’s wrong with network connection in VLC.

I tired SMB 1, 2, 3…

Could you please help,

Thank
