Spatial Audio and multichannel audio with AirPods

My question may sound silly, but does Spatial Audio work for listening to audio files across multiple channels?
I have DTS music from CDs, and I wanted to listen to it with my AirPods 3, but I don't see the option in VLC iOS. Is multichannel decoding possible, and does it work with AirPods 3?
