AppleTV VLC - Thumbnails? - for Local Network shared media

Question,
Does VLC for AppleTV support generating thumbnails/previews for media under a Local Network share? (Or can it display images as the media thumbnail somehow?)

I see that thumbnails are generated for "Remote Playback" content. But I can't seem to get thumbnails for "Local Network" content. The main screen shot of VLC from the download page seems to show thumbnails/previews working: https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-appletv.html

If this feature is supported in some way, I will figure out how to make it work. But right now, I'm not sure if this is even suppose to work. If anyone has this working, please confirm.

FYI, I’m using VLC 3.4.5 (522), on appletv model A1625 running tvOS 16.5.

This feature currently does not exist (it does not exist for iOS either), but we will try to add that in a future release.

In the screenshot, you see thumbnails provided by a UPnP server - that will work. However, for SMB/FTP, etc. VLC needs to generate them itself and that this is currently not done.

Thanks for confirming. I'll consider switching to UPnP server if I really need to see thumbnails ahead of support for smb/ftp. Thanks again
