Can't find settings on iPad to hide Battery status and clock.

Postby Norhtrawn » 06 Jun 2023 22:00

Hello,

I have a problem. I cannot find the setting to hide the battery status and clock when I want to watch a video in full screen. I looked in the settings of the app and in the iPad OS settings too.

It really is annoying to have the white clock and the green battery icon visible during fullscreen playback. First I thought that it might be a bug, but then realized that one wouldn't publish a new version where on of the most central and basic funtion of a videoplayer is glitched that way. And all other players have it hidden too (Netflix, Disney+, Prime etc ...) so it isn't a iPad OS bug either.

So, it seems I am too stupid to find the setting to hide battery, Wifi-symbol and clock from the full screen player. :-(

Can somebody point me to it?

Thanks.

I am on an iPad pro (12.9"). iPad OS 16.5 and latest VLC version (3.4.4)

This is weird. It should obviously be hidden when all the other controls are hidden, too. We will check that.

Same thing happened to me. Latest update-3.4.5(522) on iPad running iOS 16.5. Time, dates and battery visible in full screen and will not go away!

We will fix this for the next update. Note that for the meantime, you can run the app in bright instead of dark mode to hide the status bar.
