HELP! VLC iOS can’t play movies on Mac Ventura
Posted: 14 May 2023 15:52
I recently got a Mac Mini running Ventura on it. My iPhone VLC player version is 3.4.1. When I connect to my Mac Mini via SMB, I’m able to connect to the main Mac HD normally and play movies. However, the majority of my movies are on my Seagate External hard drive. The VLC player sees the Seagate External HD but when you click on it to assess the files on it, it seems like you’re gonna connect but it doesn’t.
I’ve put the share permission correctly under my Mac Mini for both the Seagate External HD and the Movie folder listed on the Seagate HD (it’s listed under General - Settings - Sharing - than you pick + and find the folders you want to share. Since I’m the main person on my Mac, it have myself read and write permission).
Please Help! Any ideas why I can see the external HD and the movie folder on the external HD on the VLC app on my phone but cannot connect to them.
