playback failed

what causes "playback failed" error? It plays through a playlist, then says "playback failed" and does not go to the next item.

Can you tell me if you notice this behavior on the same file (or group of files) or is it randomly happening, never on the same file (or group of files)?

The "playback failed" error is generated by media player but it does not give much detail about the actual error.

Hello, I have the same problem when playing music with VLC on an iPhone.
In my experience the bug happens when these 3 conditions are true:
- iPhone is in "low-power mode"
- the audio files in my playlist contain metadata tags (eg ID3)
- the iPhone is locked when the transition between 2 songs happens
I'm using the latest version of iOS and VLC.

Yes it’s always the same music files. Note that if you want me to send you the file(s), you have to specify how to send them. No, the other post has nothing to do with my issue.
