VLC for iOS 3.3.2 has broken my RTSP

Hello

Have been happily using VLC on iOS to play an RTSP a video stream from my Unifi Protect cameras. VLC provides audio in the background, crucial feature missing from the Unifi Protect app when used as a baby monitor.

Some time ago there was an update (can't remember who initiated, VLC or Ubiquiti) that resulted in needing to change the unifi provided rtsps://address:port/code?enableSrtp into rtsp://address:port/code i.e. change rtsps to rtsp and drop the ?enableSrtp off the end. Plugging this into VLC for iOS and it worked nicely.

Now it appears that this arrangement was working in VLC for iOS 3.2.13 (my wife's device) but is no longer working in VLC for iOS 3.3.2 (my iPhone). Following the update to 3.3.2 I cannot seem to get VLC on my iPhone to stream the video, but my wife's is working fine still.

Any tips / thoughts / suggestions?

Cheers....
Jeff

Thank you for the report.

We fixed an issue with network stream recently.

Indeed, I believe this should will fixed with the 3.3.3 release.

Does it help if you change the state of the RTSP-TCP option in settings?

No sorry - toggling the RTP over RTSP (TCP) makes no visible difference to the problem.

Then, we need a debug log. Please enable the option at the bottom of the Settings screen, then play your stream and afterwards share the file with us which you can find in the "Logs" folder in the VLC application context as accessible through the Files app.

hello,
I have the same problem as the post above.
Since the last major update few weeks ago, my IP camera would not stream to my Apple TV 4K. When I click on the RTSP file, it starts a orange screen for a second then stops. The RTSP file with username and password shows on the screen as a white band, it seems the fonts are white.
I am including two log files:
1. vlcdebug-2022-04-20--20-49-56.log for rtsp://192.168.1.77:554
2. vlcdebug-2022-04-20--20-50-00.log for rtsp://username:password@192.168.1.77:554

https://rapidshare.io/Buk/vlcdebug-2022 ... -50-00.log

OK, those logs explain the issue. I need to find a way to how reproduce this problem to fix it. You are using some iOS 15 version, right?

Yes, the tvOS version is: 15.4.1 (19L452) (Apple TV 4K)
VLC for tvOS version is: 3.3.4 (426)

Thank you!

Updated VLC for tvOS to version: 3.3.5 (429)
RTSP streaming IP camera video is still not working.

Thank you!

Hello,
Does anybody has an update of this issue: CCTV camera RTSP stream would not start?
When I click on this rtsp stream ( rtsp://admin:password@192.168.1.75:554 ), it would only gives a blank screen and stop.
I have attached debug logs above.
Thank you!
