Download bar non functioning

Hello
I’m using an up to date iPad 6th edition and have noticed that VLC no longer shows the download progress on the download bar. It shows the speed of download in Mb/s but no time of it finishing is there and no change of colour indicating the download progress. It does however successfully download from Seedr but until my iPad screen goes blank I have no idea that it has finished.
