File Names

I have all my movie files (mp4 format) loaded on my Seagate Wireless Plus drive. Connection to VLC is fine but the issue I'm seeing is regarding some files- they'll either not be seen in their designated folder(s) or have a time duration given as a file name. I checked the files when I connected to my windows desktop VLC but that issue is not happening there. Any suggestions?
