Are the videos uploaded using the ‘remote playback’ feature on VLC for Apple TV available to view/delete via on an iPhone, via the VLC iOS app, if both the Apple TV and iPhone are using the same iCloud account?

Short story: I uploaded some videos to my friends Apple TV, which uses the same iCloud account as his iPhone. All the videos disappeared the following day. I am aware that Apple TV can delete media if it needs to without warning, but surely not EVERY video VLC for Apple TV had stored on it.

Did the videos get removed (yes all the videos) by the Apple TV automatically.

Or

Would the videos of been uploaded to both the Apple TV and iPhone via iCloud which then could have been deleted from within the iPhone app.

Basically did my ‘friend’ sneakily delete all the videos via his iPhone that I uploaded to his Apple TV and has made out that he played no part in the disappearance of the videos uploaded ?

Your friend was not to blame here. VLC-iOS cannot delete content stored on Apple TV, neither directly nor via iCloud. In fact, both VLC instances can see each other and can play content from each other when run on the same network, but they cannot manipulate the storage on either device.

How do you download content that is saved on the Apple TV's VLC "remote storage" back onto a Mac?

There is no way to do it, sorry.
