Hide files on iPhone settings

Postby vanOway » 10 Mar 2021 23:58

Hello,

I noticed that the files in VLC are shown in iOS settings, under General > iPhone Storage > VLC. They appear even when the app is code protected and "Hide in Files" setting activated.
I wonder if there's a way to prevent listing the files there. I have seen in other apps that it's possible, would be nice to add that to VLC too.

Thanks

Oh, interested. I was not aware that Apple expanded on that screen. Can you say which apps successfully hide their stuff so we can compare?

I just created a ticket: https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc-ios/-/issues/994

Great, yes I'm not sure how long that has been this way.
One app with optional hiding is Aloha Browser. You can find it in app Settings > Files > Files Access. It hides the downloads from Files app and also from iPhone Storage.
