No UPNP Support on tvOS 14.4?

I'm not sure when this problem first started but I'm finding that UPnP no longer works with tvOS 14.4 (18K802) and VLC Mobile 3.0.12

VLC has always been my 'go-to' app for media playback from my Synology NAS which is currently running DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 3. A proprietary app, 'Player Xtreme" manages to find the NAS without problem which suggests it is using UPnP. I have tried, reducing the SSDP advertisement interval on the NAS and also a delete and reinstall VLC on the AppleTV but neither has had any effect and VLC is still unable to detect the NAS.

Any help with a solution would be appreciated.

Is VLC allowed to scan the network for devices?

Thanks for the reply.

I can't see anything in the VLC settings that would prevent it from scanning the network. When I first installed VLC on the AppleTV it found the server no problem and I've only done updates since then without altering any settings either in VLC or the Synology NAS.

The version I have on the iPad finds the server using UPnP.

I think I've sorted it. VLC was only seeing part of the network and therefor couldn't connect to the other part which contained the NAS. I've juggled the settings in VLC so it now finds the NAS via UPnP. Whether this will remain across updates to both VLC and tvOS remains to be seen.
