Inconvenience regarding subtitles and pausing

On Apple TV 4K:
When I play a foreign movie with subtitles and press Pause, then again Play to continue, the scrubbing bar at the bottom stays on the screen for a couple of seconds. The problem is - subtitles are behind the scrubbing bar, so every time I pause a movie I have to go back 10 seconds back in order to see the subtitles for that moment in time. It’s a little annoying. Youtube, for example, moves the subtitles above the scrubbing bar while the scrubbing bar is displayed so that you can actually see the subtitles when you pause a video. VLC could also show a transparent (or much thinner) scrubbing bar so that we don’t have to rewind every time we unpause a movie.
Is there an option related to this behavior in VLC on appleTV4k?
