SMB authentication when no user/pass exists

The most recent version for Apple TV is requiring SMB authentication for my network file server, but I don’t have any username or password set. My video files are in a public folder. This is new, in the past I clicked on the network source and got right to my videos.

I have the same issue. I cannot connect via SMB to my network drive, even with the correct password. It appears in VLC mobile version 3.2.12 on iOS 14. It worked fine on the previous versions.

FIgured this out with my shares. First, the current version of tvOS I have (the latest as of this post), has an Anonymous Login button which is working for me. On iOS (iPhone and iPad), 3.2.12 does not have that button, but, go to Browse, tap Connect, tap SMB, fill in ONLY the server name and nothing else and tap Connect. See if that works for you.

Hello,
There is a pre-release version available on TestFlight right now that you can download and install to verify that the problem is resolved:

Thanks!

Still seeing this in the latest version available on TestFlight. Anonymous login also prompts me for the SMBV1 authentication which is not enabled on the computer I'm trying to log into. I don't have an issue accessing the computer using other apps on Apple TV.
