scan subdirectories

Postby simion » 25 Jun 2020 18:15

Hello.

First, thanks for the hard work that goes into this project! I was wondering, is there was a way for the IOS version of VLC to recursively scan sub-directories for media files as can be done in the main linux branch?
For example, in an SMB NAS, if I have a music folder with many files stored in various sub-folders by artist, how can I have VLC randomly play the entire collection of all artists. It seems it will only play from the single selected folder and none of it's sub-directories. If it is impossible, is there a plan for it? I think it would be extremely useful.

Thanks in advance for any information.

We will improve this behavior in the v4 major release. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi, I was just wondering if this was ever addressed/implemented? Currently, I’m only able to add media files, as opposed to having VLC scan individual folders, with sub folders.
