ETA of SFTP exposure on Apple TV

I have read a few threads in which it is explained that SFTP is supported on the Apple TV app but is not yet exposed.

When will it be and, out of curiosity, why has it not yet been exposed?

I would feel safer using SFTP than FTP even within my own private network (better safe than sorry), however minimal the risk.
