Empty Folder

Postby BossTone74 » 21 Jul 2019 04:33

Hi y’all,

I have an Apple TV 4K 32gb, that I got last summer through a direct TV deal. I have it hooked up to my network, and I also have a Dlink NAS drive that VLC can see when I navigate to it on the Apple TV, after I click on the Dlink it inevitably ends up getting “empty folder”. This did work flawlessly until sometime between Jan.-Feb 2019.

Things I’ve tried, restarted, reset, update IOS to the newest operating system. Updated the app itself.

I can access all the files via my windows 7 machine and view them on my laptop using VLC.

Something changed, and I don’t think it was my doing of anything on my network. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Chances are that the DLink device disabled in a (potentially silent) updated the support for SMB1. While SMB2 is supported on Android and iOS, I'm not sure whether we added this support to the Apple TV version, too, so far.

I turned off packet signing on my Mac that hosts SMB shares. Instant fix!
