VLC fails to stream partitioned rar archives over SMB

I have tried everything; Unpacking video files doesn't work past a minute or two. Streaming archived media seems all together broken and it's only while using my iPad air 2 that these issues occur.

It's a shame too because iPads have very little to offer as is, being able to access Nas/SMB file sharing protocols (not even including the Chromecast issues) was largely the only productive and reasonable useful function outside of operating UAV's with it.

I don't blame devs I'm just underscoring VLC importance and appreciation.

I see the same issue on Windows:
VLC 3.0.8 x64, Win10 x64 Home
VLC fails to play most of my videos that are inside multipart rar archive (I access via SMB). Somtimes VLC even crashes (I get a dialog the next start).
When I try to play the same video/rar with Media Player Classic, it works.
