Cannot get past "Empty Folder"

Hello all:

I just installed this promising app in my Apple TV 4K. I have no problem with "Remote Playback": I drop a couple files (*.mkv, *.mp4) and can immediately play them. My problem is with the "Local Network" functionality under Windows 10. I have shared several folders, for added accessibility some have "Full Control", "Change", "Read". When I start the app, the furthest I can advance is seeing an icon of a fileserver, the hostname and the designation "SMB". After that, I go to "Connect to Server". I have tried 2-3 accounts, sharing several folders. I made sure that the PC and the VLC app use the same workgroup. However, I keep on getting the "Empty Folder" message.

Please help ...

TIA

More info: From the Windows 10 host, if I open a command window and type "net share", I can see the 3 folders that I have shared. I know that they have video files in them, but for some reason the VLC App cannot see the folders, much less their contents.

TIA

Assuming that the username and password you are entered are correct, chances are that SMBv1 support is disabled on your Windows installation, which would explain why VLC cannot connect. While there will be support for SMBv2 and SMBv3 in future releases of VLC for Apple TV, it is currently not there.
