Cannot see music files in Music Albums after copying through Wi-Fi Sharing

Hi. Few hours ago I installed VLC for iOS on my iPhone 8 (running iOS 11 with latest updates). I enabled Wi-Fi Sharing in VLC for iOS and copied several WAV files (some of the filenames contain Japanese characters, some contains alphabets only) onto my iPhone. I could see the files in the All Files tab but not in the Music Albums tab, and I could only play my music one-by-one manually. I expected the WAV files being shown in the Music Album tab and VLC would play all files in sequence or random sequence at my choice and automatically.

Could someone give me a hint to solve this problem? Or is it a known issue/ limitation of the application? Would converting the files to FLAC or other media formats help?

Thank you.

Edit:

I think my situation is similar to a comment left on App Store:
The download/media library has stopped working as of the last iOS update. Used to work flawlessly but now when i download videos from my NAS, they do no appear in my media library once completed. I can tell the downloads completed because the iPhone reports VLCs file system usage increased by the same amount as the downloaded file(s). Streaming from my NAS does work perfectly however. Just stuck with an empty media library now.

Hi,

Not really sure if I understood your issue but here goes.

Currently the `Music Albums` tab regroups only what it considers as an albums.
Therefore, I would advice creating a folder in the `All Files` tab and using it as a playlist.
However, in a near future, a new UI will be integrated in VLC-iOS completely changing the navigation including the tabs.

Hope it helped.

Cheers,
