Time counter on VLC app for Ipad issues

I have recently downloaded vlc for my ipad and I am having the issue with the time counter. It displays the counter correctly and I like the feature where you touch the time and it switches back and forth.
The problem I have with the counter is that it only stays on my screen for a couple of seconds then disappears, I have to keep pressing the screen to see what the time is.
Is there a setting that I am not finding to fix this problem.

I would like any and all suggestions for this.
