(tvOS/iOS, Apple TV 4K/iPad Pro 2017) TV recordings playback frequently freezes / some localization on tvOS is missing

1) Since updating the tvOS version the day before yesterday to 1.1.0 (110.50) all my own HD recordings are freezing quite often when playing them from the NAS (direct CAT7 ethernet cable connection to the Apple TV). The recordings in question (in the meantime I tested around five of them, old and new ones) still play absolutely fine with VLC 2.2.6 on macOS but are nearly impossible to watch in a comfortable way on tvOS – too many frames are just dropped. Has there been any change under the hood for playing material with such specifications (mostly BBC1/2/4 HD recordings made with a VU+ Solo 4K)?

The following info is copied from the VLC inspector window on macOS (translated by myself from German into English):

Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (h264)
Resolution: 1920x1090
Screen Resolution: 1920x1080
Refresh rate: 25
Decoded format: Planar 4:2:0 YUV

If the audio format is of any importance in this case please ask and I’ll provide the data with pleasure. If a developer would like to take a direct look on such a recording, please send me a PM and I’ll forward you a link.

Unfortunately, the behavior on iOS 11.1.2 (VLC 2.8.5 (285.5)) on an iPad Pro (2nd generation) is exactly the same. In that case the signal comes from an 802.11ac wireless connection. And to repeat it: everything worked just fine before the most recent updates and still does work perfectly well on macOS.

2) Some of the localizations are missing on tvOS (on an Apple TV with German as the GUI language):

SETTINGS_NETWORK_PLAY_ALL

SETTINGS_DOWNLOAD_ARTWORK

Many thanks to all the developers for their fine work!
