UDP Stream freezes on Apple TV

I am having trouble with playing a network stream that is on our network with the VLC app. The Apple TV is a version 4 and is hardwired ethernet. I have a UDP multicast on the network and the Apple TV starts the video stream but constantly freezes in less than a minute. I have to back out and restart the stream every time. I tested out using a macbook and the VLC app at the same time and that had no problems streaming the same video stream. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

This problem has been reported a number of times (with a few different variations) under this topic but there have been no responses. If there is anyone out there who can offer any suggestions, it would be much appreciated. We, too, have this problem using VLC 1.0.7 under tvOS 11.0. Note that this worked generally OK under tvOS 10.x with only some glitches, but with tvOS 11.0, VLC is unusable.

Source: Osprey Talon G1H Encoder set to generate two H.264 UDP multi-cast streams: One at 15 Mbps 1080p/30 and the other at 1.5 Mbps 320p/15.
Working Receivers: A number of MacOS devices (iMac, MacBook Pro, Mac mini) all running VLC 2.2.6 work fine on either stream. Video portions occasionally freeze but restart up on their own. Audio never freezes.
Non-functioning Receiver: Apple TV 4th Generation running VLC 1.0.7 under tvOS 11 will freeze both video and audio streams and will not restart on their own. VLC sometimes crashes. The high-rate stream will freeze after 30 seconds, while the low-rate stream freezes after 2 minutes --- this is consistent under tvOS 11 even after doing a reset to the Apple TV. Under tvOS 10, the streams would only occasionally freeze --- maybe after 45-60 minutes.
