Duplicate Files

I use VLC for iOS mostly for the download of webm and mp files.
Recently upon downloading a file, every single other file in the media library duplicated into at least 8 duplicate files. Attempting to delete a duplicate file deleted all of them plus the original. Any way to fix this?

Same problem here - sorta...
I've stared at this problem for hours trying to figure out a pattern on why the duplication is occurring. I think I've figured it out, but it make no sense to me. Here's my observation...
In the IOS VLC app I only see duplicate filenames when the filename of the video contains certain Cyrillic characters. Specifically the Й / й and/or the Ё / ё Cyrillic characters.
For example, a filename of "Ратмир и Серж - Девчёнка.mp4" will produce duplicates because of the ё in the filename. Likewise a filename of "Сергей Лазарев 7 цифр.mp4" produces a duplicate as well because of the й in the filename.
If I rename the filenames -omitting the ё or й Cyrillic characters, and resynchronize using iTunes, the duplicates disappear.
Operating Environment
iPhone 7 Plus 128 GB
IOS 11.0.1
VLC 2.8.3 (283.2)
iTunes 12.7.0.166
Video file formats - .mp4 only
That's my two cents worth.

It seem like @ZeroDark30 suspicion is correct I just done some sweeping on my duplicated files and found that most of it contain something similar to the Cyrillic characters that @ZeroDark30 had. I had some Japanese video file with Japanese text in it and found out that the duplicated one have word like ば ジ じ which have something similar to " in it.
Best fix for it is to avoid some word character that contain something similar to " or just use regular english character for now and hope that the developer will see this and fix it.
