Playlist and Search

I have an ipod touch 5 gen running ios 9.3.5 (nonjailbreak), i was wondering if there is a way to make a playlist in the VLC app and if there is a search function. if not is there a way i can add them without jailbreaking (i cant downgrade and jailbreak and theres no jailbreak for ios 9.3.5 32bit) thank you
