Chromecast support for Ipad / Iphone

Hi,
Is there a way to stream videos from my ipad to my TV thru my chromecast? I upload videos on my ipad via the apps function in itunes, however i can't find a way to stream them afterwards from my ipad to my TV. It would be great to have a "cast" button within VLC the same way there is one in Netflix and numerous other apps...is there something i'm missing? Does anyone know how to do this? thank you!
