Odd file organization behavior

Hello everyone, I'm currently using VLC ios on ios 9.3.2 on an iPhone 6 plus. I recently uploaded a few video files named very similarly, for example : "foo (bar) - (Y)". (Y being a number) After uploading every file name changes to "foo (bar) - (Z)". (Z being the greatest Y value). Then after a few minutes, these files get grouped as a tv show, and added to a folder. Here's the catch: apparently the app sees the identically named files as one file and just adds one random file among the list and omits the rest. I would upload a screen shot, but I cleared my library to try again tomorrow. Any insight on why this is occurring? Thank you.

Ouch. Can you give more exact details on the file name. Looks like our pattern matching is inaccurate for your use case.

Of course. To elaborate, I added a few episodes of classic doctor who, and the episodes were sorted by serial. So for example "An Unearthly Child" would be formatted "Doctor Who S01E01 - An Unearthly Child (x)" where "x" would mean which part it was (i.e for part one the full filename would be "Doctor Who S01E01 - An Unearthly Child - (1)") I realize this a very odd way to name these, and I'll understand if the only solution is to change them. Thanks for the reply!
