mp3 and cdg playback

Use VLC on my PC for mp3 and cdg karaoke track playback - works great.
Put VLC on my iPad and imported tracks (mp3 and cdg files) and I only get audio on the iPad - no graphic / lyrics.
Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Thanks
Dave

Updated to latest version - tried again today - and still won't play mp3 & .cdg combinations - zipped or unzipped.
Can't imagine why anyone at VLC doesn't see the enormity of a market where every single karaoke fan / user would want to use the single best media player in the world IF it could play .mp3 & .cdg files or zips.
Other players can play them - and I rate them as inferior.
I'd quite happily pay an annual fee for a version that will play these files...
As it is - as they won't - I'm glad it's free as in its current state its useless to me.

Hello, I posted yesterday a related problem to yours. I would like to use vlc on my I-Pad for playing karaoke track playbacks as background to my own saxophone music. But it is not possible to play only one title and then stopp before playing a new one. The player always starts a new title immediately after the end of the former. So it is useless to me. On the PC version there is a possibility to stopp continous playing.

Hi Gato
Are you playing .mp3 & .cdg karaoke backing tracks successfully on your iPad?
I can not. If I could play them - the pause issue would not worry me - I'd hit the pause button.
If you are playing karaoke backing tracks formed of two files (.mp3 & .cdg) then you have overcome my problem.
I am using an iPad 4 - which iPad are you using?

Frankly spoken I do not know which version of I-pad I have. It is one of the latest I think. But after my experience with vlc I think you can forget about vlc on I-Pad. It just does not work properly. And no one her can give me an answer to my question about how to configure vlc that it stops at the end of each title and just does not continue with some other title. When you play music along to a plyback you have not the time to press the "pause" button at the end.

If you are playing ordinary mp3 music tracks we're talking about different issues.
It is frustrating when your posts don't get the attention they deserve though.
A really good backing track player is "Karaoke HD" on iTunes. If you want to make play lists it will cost you a little extra - but it's worth it. You can dictate it to play non-stop or finish a track - select the next but then pause automatically.
I just wish VLC did this - I prefer it.
