Hi,
I recently repaired an iPhone6 16GB up-to-date and gave it to my daughter for watching movies stored on my local PC and shared via SMB.
It works pretty well, but the battery is drained in about 2h and the phone gets pretty hot.
Is a so short autonomy normal ?
movies are 1080p mkv ~5GB

Thanks

With 1080p content, this is normal at the moment. It will get a lot better soon though when we ship our hardware decoder, so it should be 6 or maybe even 8 hours afterwards.

Hi,
Does the v3.0.0 implement the hardware decoder as you mentioned before?

Yes, it will, but maybe we will do a release before. Depends on available time and man power.

I really enjoy using VLC over other media players. I’m having the same issue with VLC v3.3.9 running on an iPhone 13 mini with iOS 16.0.2 installed. Just connecting to OneDrive and not really playing any music or video the phone gets really hot. Is there something I could be doing wrong?

Does this happen only when using OneDrive or also for local content?

I did just run a test. I downloaded 50 mp3 files from OneDrive to my iPhone. The phone did not get hot. Then I proceeded to play the local files with VLC. The phone still did not get hot. It still gets hot when playing the files directly from OneDrive. I must have something setup wrong and there may be conflicts with the access to OneDrive.
