I'm new to the Ipad and am trying to transfer music and video files from my pc. (Why is it so difficult???!!!)

The instructions on the VLC app say your device on the left hand side of Itunes, then choose the Apps tab. The Itunes app I've downloaded on my pc has neither the ipad listed on the left side, nor any App tab that I can see.

Has Itunes changed?

I don't have access to iTunes on Windows at the moment, so I can't tell for sure what happened to the Apps tab.
