VLC on ATV4 (tvOS) crashes

Installed VLC on a brand new ATV4, logged into Wifi network, got connected to some shares, and it worked, means played audio and video files. After two days day app started to instantly close when I tried to connect to the same shares. I can see the app still running in background (double click on home button of the Siri remote shows VLC as still open). But no chance to get connected to the shares and play any file. Nothing changed in my network setup since. Which is: 2 shared TC (gen 4 and gen 5), ATV4 logged into gen 5 TC Wifi network at 5Ghz band. Even no ATV4 reset and trying to get it work from the scratch helped so far.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

We broke TimeCapsule support in the last update. This is fixed in the next update, which will hopefully be cleared by Apple early next week.

Current workaround for this issue for me is to use the Remote Play function

Honestly, I do not go in for "workarounds". We need solitions. As much as I understood early new week there could be one.

Thx anyway for your approach.

The update is being reviewed by Apple for 36 hours now. Let's keep fingers crossed.

Great job, Felix! The update is out now, installed. It brought back the TC support. It's working like a champ now! Thanks to the whole team!

I would like to have an option to show files in list view. Do you see any chance to this?
