VLC on AppleTV + Plex server plays incorrect file

Hi,

I just started having a problem with VLC playing the incorrect files from a Plex server running on my Mac in the last day or two and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the recent update.

When I select and play a title in my library, there's a slight delay (which is new) and then it plays a random title from my library.

I tried removing and reinstalling Plex server, but it didn't change anything so now I'm wondering if it's VLC.

Anyone else experiencing this or anything like it?

How do you access PLEX? Via UPnP or the native support? Does the folder in question list both sub-directories and files by any chance?

Hi,

Just returned from a trip, sorry for the delay.

I normally launch VLC and under "local network" I have three choices: "My Mac UPnP", "My Mac SMB" and "My mac Plex"
I choose "My Mac Plex" which leads to a screen with my library. If I then choose something from that library it will play the wrong file.

On a hunch I just deleted and reinstalled both VLC for the AppleTV and Plex for my Mac and now the "My Mac UPnP" has changed to "Plex Media Server: My Mac UPnP"

When selecting "Plex Media Server: My Mac UPnP" under my local network, it will go to my libraries and play the correct files (woo hoo!)

So I'm going be using "Plex Media Server: My Mac UPnP" from now on.

Hopefully things will stay working this way. Hope this answered your question.

Thanx for making such a great app.

FYI, we also published an update today which should solve the file shift for PLEX shares accessed using the PLEX specific protocol.
