Struggling with this one a while. I got VLC on Apple TV 4 and choose the correct coding for polish language Eastern European (Windows-1250) but still can get polish signs. Any suggestions for this issue. Greetings from Poland

What is the source video and subtitles (stream or network share, file format, etc)? Also what is the behaviour from the desktop version of VLC?
Providing logs, messages, configuration info (VLC, OS, Hardware) and a clear explanation of the issue always helps the problem solvers help you, even if they don't end up solving the issue. I have the same problem!
The source of the video (mkv .mp4) and subtitles (.txt .srt) are on local network disk WD My Cloud.
Deskop version of VLC (macOS Sierra) works fine with those files and subtitiles are with polish characters.
The problem is only on the apple tv. I have te lates version of the VLC (1.07)
