Apple TV 4 - 10 second skip not working

I can't seem to get the 10 second skip to work when watching videos via VLC on my Apple TV4. Skip works OK when watching movies through iTunes, but my home videos I have recorded on iPhone and playing back through VLC on Apple TV do nothing when I hold down the right or left hand side of the Apple TV remote.

Anyone else seeing this?
