Help request to stream!!

Hi everyone,

I am new here. I have a Macbook Air that I usually plug up to my television and stream videos from VLC. However, I also have the new Apple TV and know that there is a VLC app for the Apple TV.

I have just spent an hour googling and trying to figure out how to basically "Stream" or "cast" videos from my macbook air to the tv but for the life of me, I couldn't figure it out.

DO I use the "Local network" , "remote playback", or "network stream."

Is there a step by step guide to get me set up here?

Try out the remote playback. You should see an URL which you can enter into the web browser of your computer. Then, you can drag any video into that browser window to play them.
