Playing DVD folder on VLC for iOS (iphone & ipad)

Hi there

In VLC on mac / PC it is possible to play a DVD as per the original (when there is main folder with audio_TS and video_TS sub-folders, each with .VOB etc ) by opening the main folder.

Is the equivalent possible on VLC for iOS? If so how?

I have DVD folders on wireless hard-drive. I can play individual files (without linked sound), but not the whole movie.

Can anyone assist?

Many thanks

Mobile versions of VLC for iOS and tvOS don't include the needed DVD playback libraries for legal reasons (those libraries are under the GPLv2 license, which is not compatible with the App Store Terms of Services), so sorry, this feature can't be provided.

Please clarify:

I have an iPad air 3. I intend to download VLC iOS app. Then I plan to purchase some type of lightning/bolt flashdrive. I would like to put DVDs in non converted format on the flash drive. Then plug the flash drive into iPad, and use VLC iOS app to play the non converted videos.

Will this logic function ?
I don't want to purchase a flash drive and a separate ripper program, just to discover my logic is flawed.

thx, understood re license.

Is there a version of iOS VLC that include the libraries for dvd use which I could compile myself and install using xcode? (my skills are not up to adapting code, but compiling and sideloading I can do!)

I've sideloaded other apps in the past to step around App Store approval limitations...

thanks!
