Files on iPad renamed to last file uploaded

Postby burymestandingup » 11 Mar 2015 23:13

Totally new user to VLC and I am trying to help my son get a bunch of albums purchased online from the bands website onto his iPad mini. I connect via wi-fi sharing and upload the tracks and they all upload, but the files all get renamed to match the name of the last file to upload. So I end up with 20 mp3 files all with the same name. It looks like they are tagged correctly as far Title, artist and album name is concerned. Can anyone help?
Also how do I get uploaded music files to appear correctly in albums? They just appear as single files. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Please share 2 sample files with me. You can email them to fkuehne at videolan dot org or upload to http://streams.videolan.org/upload

Hi !

I do have the same problem : all files are displayed with the same name (which is the name of the last file).
The actual music length is right.
In Itunes, I can see all files, and they still got their original name, so maybe it's only the way vlc display names that has a small problem.

Il tried to split my files in several directories, to see if it was the number of files that cause the problem.
It didn't work (still got the names wrong).

My configuration :
iphone 5
iOS 8.1.1
VLC 2.4.1 (1)

By the way, guys, you are doing a great work !
