Slow time to display UPNP movie library

I have a very large movie library on my UPNP server. When selecting the library, VLC either crashes or it takes more than 1min to open. I initially thought it would be because I still have an iphon 4s, which isn not performing too well. However, I then tried "media:connect" app, which takes a second to pull up the movie view displaying all the movies.
Any ideas what is making VLC for IOS to slow to pull open the movie list over UPNP?
Thanks in advance!!!

How many movies do you have in a single folder? VLC for iOS is known to have issues with more than 80 items in a single folder.

Thanks for your quick reply. Yes, I have a couple of hundred, so facing the issue you are describing. Any fix planned in foreseeable future? Anything to "learn" from media:connect app. I don't know how they do it, but even very large movie databases takes less than a second to open the folder?

It's a known issue in the underlying UPnP library we are using. It's on my list, but I can't promise if the potential fix will make it in the forthcoming release or the one after.

Bonjour,
Dès que je mets plusieurs videos dans un folder, la première est lue, les autres font crasher VLC.
iPad Air 128 Go - iOS 8.3
VLC 2.5.1
Y a t'il une solution?
Merci.

Bernard, don't hijack existing threads with different problems and note that this is an English-only forum.

Thanks, great to see you are working on it. Looking forward that this fix will find it into the next release. Thanks!!!
